6 Tips To Help Shake Off the Quarantine Blues
Its day one million of self-quarantine and the blues are really starting to take hold. It's getting harder and harder to get out of bed each day and get moving.
On days like these... Netflix looks sexy as F-
But I know that, for me personally, when I don't get moving and get shit done throughout my day, future night time me is NOT HAPPY! That's why I've come up with these 6 very simple tips to get me going and keep me feeling refreshed throughout the day.
#1 Get Fully Dressed
And when I say dressed, I mean get cute. Not sweats and a T shirt... I'm talking nice pants, nice blouse, maybeeee even some jewelry if you're feeling up to it. If you want to take it to the next level, throw on a light layer of makeup that makes you feel powerful. I know that when I throw a little makeup on it becomes like a mask, a shield if you will. Then I can be a warrior ready for battle.
... unless you're a nudist, then don't get dressed.
#2 Move Your Body
Home workouts, stretching, yoga, dance parties... these are becoming increasingly popular as we force ourselves to learn new skills in the comfort of our own homes. I know this seems obvious, but honestly it's life changing. Get the energy flowing through your body and watch your stamina through the day grow!
#3 Limit Screen Time
Scrolling seriously takes up so much time during our days and we don't even realize until Apple reminds us on Sundays that we've spent 6 hours a day on our phones. This also includes watching TV all day. First of all, it doesn't make us feel very good about ourselves. Secondly, screen head ache is a real thing. And third, it's not really accomplishing anything, it's just another form of procrastination. Even if you're an instagram influencer. Replace your scrolling with learning something new! Listen to a podcast, take a free course or read a book. Even if that's all you do today, it'll still feel productive at the end of the day.
#4 Write a "To Do" list every morning.
In your journal, in your phone, on your computer, on a blank piece of paper... wherever you want. Start with the less fun stuff and end with the more fun stuff, that way you get all the frustration out of the way first. Check items off as you go and stay diligent. This will keep you on track for your day.
Pro Tip: Don't write a million things on your to do list that you can't possibly accomplish in one day, that's how to set yourself up for failure and disappointment. Start with 4 or 5 realistic items and go from there!
#5 Plan to do one thing every day that makes you feel really good.
Whatever that may be, the things you want to do but you tell yourself it's not important or you don't have time. Maybe it's a self love ritual, or a long bath. Maybe it's reading a raunchy romance novel or reading a comic book. Whatever your guilty pleasure is, let yourself have it during this time!
#6 Wake up early
Last but certainly not least... in fact, should be first but I'm stubborn in that way. Getting up early means exposing your brain to that special blue light from the sun that only exists in the morning. It fights off depression and leaves you with many more hours in the day to accomplish everything that's on your mind. It may be hard at first, but after a while it becomes habit and feels really good. If you want help with that, join my Morning Mindset Magic bundle where I teach you how to start your morning off strong to keep you energized and productive all day long.
Well, there you have it!

Sending you many blessings.
