What Happened When I Started Getting Hypnotized
Hypnotism has been given an ugly name by Hollywood. The films make it out to be like some culty, mind control weapon to take away your free will. This is why I was hesitant to make my first appointment. But at the time, I was a severe hypochondriac. Every time I heard of someone getting sick I would create the same symptoms in my body. I realized the danger of this and knew it had to be taken care of before I created something so big that I couldn't fix it.
I sought out a hypnotherapist who would feel soft and genuine, for fear that they may try to melt my mind and control my body for world domination. I found a lovely woman about an hour and a half from me, but due to the sensitive matter, I was willing to drive to feel safe.
When I got there, she was very warm and invited me in. The office was in a physical therapy building. I walked in and sat in a big comfy chair and we got to know each other a bit. She asked me a series of questions that would help her feed me the correct suggestions while I was in my trance. She explained to me that hypnotherapy would feel like deep meditation, that I would be able to hear everything she was saying and could object to anything if I chose to, but that my body would feel so deeply relaxed that I simply would not want to get up. I bravely agreed and then the induction started.
Her voice was gentle and kind as she described beautiful scenery for me to imagine. Just as she said, my body grew extremely relaxed. I could hear everything she was saying, but I was just so peaceful that it almost didn't matter. Everything she was saying was what I wanted to feel, so I let it go. I didn't fall asleep, you aren't supposed to. I just sat there and relaxed while she fed my mind a new reality.
Fascinating.
I returned to her two more times, knowing that once was simply not enough to achieve my desired outcome. After that I found myself not being able to make it to her due to the drive. She offered to do it over Skype but I declined and went on about my life.
It took me a few weeks to notice the difference. One day I just stopped in my tracks and thought, "Wait! I haven't thought I was dying in weeks now!" It worked. It really worked! And the results have been lasting.

A few years later the opportunity presented itself to be certified in Clinical Hypnotherapy myself, and I took it. I learned about how it works, the difference it can make it people's lives and how special this work really is. It helps people lose weight, quit smoking, find their creativity, have better sex, be gentler with the self, eliminate limiting beliefs about the self and pretty much anything you can think of. I'm even super interested in how rewiring the mind comes into play when it comes to Manifestation and The Law Of Attraction.
This is why I became a Hypnotherapist. I highly recommend this work for anyone trying to overcome something in their life. I'm not just the therapist, I'm also the patient and the success story.
